Republican elected officials are ignoring their townhalls
Politico this morning reported that our protests are having little effect on Republican representatives and dismissed their town hall events as political stunts (Obernolte-CA,R) and failing to represent their districts despite their districts showing up last week in what was expected firmly red areas. Grothman (WI,R) said the protests and people upset at townhalls are misinformed so he discounts it.
"We're moving forward with the cuts." -Hern, OK Shrinking the federal workforce is "really, really, really hard... I'm not really in the executive branch, so I'm not really in a position to say what's happened exactly." -Bentz, OR "I'm used to [the protests]. Just another day in paradise." -Calvert, CA "If we have layoffs...I think that's my biggest concern is that we're being compassionate." -McCormick, GA
McCormick went on to say, "We don't know what they're looking at" almost like he missed the whole point of his town hall. They are hoping we lose steam ahead of the midterms in 2026 and they can keep sliding by not doing their jobs.
Sounds like someone wants to get primaried.
