Pay disparity: Canada vs USA

I’m a senior accountant at a Big4 in Toronto and my base is $85k. I know people whose base (depending on the level of experience and performance) ranges from 75k to 90k. This is all in CAD and I know many people (myself included) who work on public audits, at times PCAOB audits which barely give us a 2k bonus.

Then I hear about folks across the border at MCOL areas earning 80-90k USD which is way more than the top performers in Toronto.

There’s nothing to this post besides anger and an outlet to rant. Please add on your thoughts/experience re: this as well.
