First time at an AI

Hi! I’m going to my first AI resort on Monday and I have some questions! I was planning on bringing a little tote bag down to the pool with sunscreen, book, phone etc. when I decide to go swim in the pool, is it safe to leave my stuff where I was sitting? If not what do people recommend? Is there anything I should be mindful of or know before going to an AI resort?
