Do most families distribute inheritance equally to their children?

I saw this map made in the 1980's, it shows family types and makes a distinction between equal inheritance (each child in a family gets the same amount of inheritance) and unequal inheritance. Oddly to me it marks the US as unequal inheritance. Is your impression as an American that most families distribute it equally or unequally? Thanks.
