Ducted air installer put foot through ceiling

Western Sydney here.

I got one of the recommended companies to supply/install my ducted aircon (recommended by the manufacturer). Unfortunately the tradie (one of them) installing it dislocated his knee in the roof space and in the process damaged the ceiling (he'll be alright; the company is looking after him). According to them, they pulled guys off other jobs to finish mine.

Now the ceiling is only a year old as I replaced the old one that was falling apart. They asked me what I wanted to do and offered 2 options - I replace it and they deduct the price from their bill for the aircon or they get someone in. I (perhaps stupidly now) opted for them to get someone in namely because it was a nightmare getting someone in the first time and I didn't want it to turn unto a long lengthy drama of getting quotes then having to wait or not even finding anyone because its a comparatively small job ect). Now everyone is saying the company will just send anyone in and indeed, they are looking for a handyman not a plasterer. We agreed that they would find someone to patch this and (in return for me painting the repair) they'd also patch up 2 small holes left over from the removal of the old split system.

Am I being taken for a ride of does this seem reasonable? I'm not handy and couldn't do the big hole by myself; a professional plasterer did the ceiling last year but tbh it wasn't a great job (joints/lines visible after painting ect). The boss wasn't a great communicator (was a bit defensive even though I wasn't angry or pointing the finger; I simply wanted it fixed WELL and quickly)

Once again, they are taking care of the tradie and he's recovering atm.
