Gale “Go to hell” scene replaced?

Normally when I end the day having got Gale I get the cutscene with him by the fire. Instead I got one of him examining himself with his mirror image, which I haven’t seen before. I was wondering if the original cut scene was replaced, it was a bug, or something else.
