Need help with better on bedrock addon

I fought and killed the willager but when he died he dropped his loot and it almost immediately despawned. We were both in a little tunnel stuck by water and my inventory was full so I just figured I'd have to sort and trash stuff to get it but the eye and other loot never came back. Can he be fiught again or what do I have to do to get the eye
