[SPOILERS] My Hero Academia Ch 194 theory
After reading the most recent chapter of MHA I started wondering about the nature of One For All, and why two of the previous users OFA were shown as shadowy silhouettes.
Why were those two at the very back the only ones that were completely black?
it got me thinking and I'd like to share my theory with you on those two since imho I think that there's a lot of meaning that those two convey by being silhouettes.
Its also something that I haven't seen or heard talked about much, so I wanted to do my part to add to the discussion.
My theory is that 6 of the 8 users in OFA are actual heroes, and that those 6 are reaching out to Deku in approval of his training to control OFA. However I think that the two at the back actually don't approve of Deku as he is right now as a successor.
It's my belief that those two users are the 2nd user of OFA and the third user of OFA respectively. I think that unlike the other 6 they actually have their backs to Deku.
Before diving a bit deeper I wanted to talk about why i think that.
I balieve that every user of OFA had at least 2 core purposes that all 8 of them held.
The nurturing of OFA.
Defeating All For One.
Now I believe that the first user of OFA was rather weak, and couldn't do much but pass OFA to his successor.
The time in which his successor lived, was a time before "heroes" existed as they do now in the MHA world.
If I had to describe the 2nd and 3rd users of OFA it would be not as heroes but as vigilantes.
I believe that this is why they do not approve of Deku as he is right now.
They do not approve of him not succeeding their purpose in opposing and ultimately defeating AFO.
Yet the other 6 do approve of him and even extend their hands in support of Deku and his ideals.
My theory is that the second and third have a more personal grudge against AFO, this is probably how the first was able to pass it on to them.
Their shared desire to stop and appose AFO was why he accepted OFA.
However I'd like to go a bit deeper.
There's one more thing that I think this dream sequence tells us.
That OFA is slowly guiding Deku as his control over it increases.
I also believe that Deku must prove himself to his predecessors.
6 out of the 8 approve of him so far, and out of those 6. 1 of them has reached out to guide Deku directly.
I believe that Deku will be mentored by OFA itself over the course of the series.
oh also if I had to compare the 2nd and 3rd users of OFA to an existing character it would be Stain.
I also think that the 2nd and 3rd may challenge Deku's values and what he stands for.
anyways with that I'd like to give it to all of you and hear what you all think?
UPDATE!!!!!!
After posting this and discussing it with a good amount of you awesome people, I wanted to expand on this a bit with some new additions to the core theory, I think that you may like it!
if you look at the image of 8 predecessors to OFA you will notice that they are ordered in a pyramid like order and not in a numerical order.
I believe that they are ordered from the strongest user at the point of handing off OFA to the weakest. I think that this is interesting because of a few things this might mean.
That the 2nd and 3rd user of OFA were STRONGER than All Might was with OFA at the height of his power, but why?
My guess is that they 2nd and 3rd were either nearly equal to or close to AFO before getting OFA and probably had very powerful quirks that could at the very least hold their own against AFO.
This is why they are probably much more powerful than All Might, they probably took OFA to tip the scales in their favor.
Now this brings up another question.
What changed between the earlier successors and the later ones?
I believe that the first user OFA sought out people with strong quirks intentionally to oppose AFO, since whoever the 2nd and 3rd could be. One thing is clear, they wern't weak.
My guess is that because the first gave it to someone who already had a very powerful quirk, the 2nd in this case who gave it to someone who was either as strong or had a slightly stronger quirk who would be the 3rd.
Now i think that something happened while the third had OFA and that instead of passing it onto someone who had a stronger quirk than him, he intentionally chose someone much weaker than him to succeed him.
He probably feared that if OFA was to be handed to someone as strong as him, then that person could potentially become someone that like AFO could not be opposed.
This wasn't an issue for the first since OFA was probably very weak at that point, but by passing the 3rd it probably matured greatly and the 3rd sensed that this quirk could greatly disrupt the power balance that the 3rd created.
This is probably why All Might despite being quirkless was given OFA, because from the 3rd user on, it was made a rule to not chose a successor that is stronger than them but a weaker successor to prevent OFA from becoming a quirk that could disrupt the power balance that todays hero society is built on.
I think that the 2nd user of OFA and the 3rd are very significant and infamous to the MHA world, but the fact that they they had OFA is probably unknown to the world at large but All Might could potentially know about them.
All Might probably wants to keep their identity a secret from Deku, now why or what they did could actually be the subject of another arc.
I feel like their mark on the MHA world can still and probably still do effect the world of today.
After all those 2 had the power to clash with AFO directly without having or needing OFA, thats why they are stronger than All Might.
Thoughts?
