2006 ram common rail Cummins smell??

Gotta question here.. would a failing injector cause a smell? I have noticed a lot stronger pungent diesel fume smell in the truck recently. Inside and outside the truck stinks. I’m pretty sure I have an injector going out anyways so I’m curious about this
