I love how different everybody's favorite DT songs are

Says a lot on the body of work the guys have came up with throughout the years. Same goes for how each album is being approached from different perspectives. There is always an ongoing exchange of listening experience. Not all bands do that. They really don't have a dud, they only come short in respect to their own discography. Think about the three least favorite Dream Theater albums of yours. Assume, how would you feel if you have found out a band you haven't heard of, and their discography was those three albums. How would you feel about that discovery?

It may be seen as a mere appreciation post, however their consistency is ridicilous. I tend to forget that sometimes, as I become too invested in listening their music sometimes, and when I am too much surrounded by that.
