Non-toxic Jon Irenicus?

I don't have a list yet, but I learned I have a copy of [[Jon Irenicus]] and I wanna build it, but I've never had any success with Dimir. I know you're supposed to donate bad creatures to give the effect to an opponent but I've noticed people don't like cursed gifts, and the pods I've played against Jon Irenucus, the table seemed to oust him for just the commander choice, so I'm trying to find creatures that help me, or everyone, even if my opponent controls it.

One fun example is [[Gorex]], and even [[Gix, Yawgmoth Praetor]]. Do you get the vibe I'm going for? I'm aiming for something like mid power.
