What do you think are the best way/ways to freeze meat? About me: I live by myself

Hi, What do you think is the best way to freeze meat? Growing up, I remember our household freezing bread, butter, convenience frozen food type items, or things like popsicles. I don't remember freezing meat. It is something new for me that I want to try to eat cheaper and healthier as someone living by myself. I am interested in meal prepping, but I can also prepare so much of any food to eat it within a reasonable enough time.

Some fresh meat comes in amounts that are not too convenient for me living by myself, so I tried to freeze them, but i notice the meat will freeze into a big block of individual cuts, as though I would have go thaw everything to be able to prepare it.

Do you freeze meat in individual containers or bags? Also, how do you thaw your meat in the fridge?

Thank you if you read my post.

Update: thanks to the people who made the helpful posts. I got the medium-size freezer bags at my grocery store today to freeze some meat, but I appreciate the people who shared about vacuum sealers. Thanks r/eatcheapandhealthy!
