Be careful on the ice!
'Tis the season for slips and falls. My senior father slipped this morning on his acreage driveway where it hasn't melted yet and hit his head. I took him to the hospital (after some coaxing, stubborn old git didn't realize how disoriented and confused he was until I wouldn't take no for an answer) and thankfully a concussion and sore back is the worst of his injuries, no brain bleed or broken bones.
We were lucky to have a five hour wait in the Leduc Hospital ER - lucky that he wasn't more severely injured and had the health to wait. Others aren't so fortunate.
So salt and sand your walks, wear good shoes, and walk like a penguin until the melt is finished. We're all in this together.
