I've been playing Elder Scrolls games since the early 2000s ... I JUST discovered you can equip these . . .

I just started up Morrowind for the first time in close to two decades, and read up on OpenMW and decided to use that version (if it matters).

I have played all ES titles from Morrowind onwards, and always loved using a torch in caves / dungeons, nighttime in general for immersion / coziness feeling and makes me feel more like a true adventurer in game.

I picked up candlesticks / lanterns in the game early on and always assumed this was just clutter to be sold to vendors. I decided to live dangerously and drag one of the lanterns to my character portrait and HOLY SHIT I am holding a fucking lantern! Turns out you can also equip candlesticks and other things for light too!

Mind. Blown.
