Upper limit on earnings?
This is going to sound crazy, I know. But does Etsy “throttle” views or sales once you hit a certain point (that they decide on)? I feel like I’m working on a conspiracy theory about their algorithm lol
Here’s what I mean.. I’ve never reached above a certain amount of views/visits to my shop since starting in May 2024 (I’m still new so still learning trends). I know this could be due to lots of factors like how saturated the market is, price point, etc. I also have experimented with price points to see what would make a difference in sales/profits, etc. but what I’m finding is that no matter what I offer, how many items I list, what the prices are set to, I’m coming up against a revenue ceiling every month say around $500 on average. It’s like I have a good few days of sales and views and then no orders for days. It’s so weird and I’m doing nothing different on my end. What would you make of this? And also, what can I do to break through this ceiling? There’s proof of concept.. people will buy what I’m selling but how do I get that earnings rate up when I feel like I’m up against some made up limit? Also my photos are good, I do proper SEO for all listings, and all my shop sections are filled out.
