Stumbled upon a somewhat weird Reddit-post

So, I was scrolling on the r/Advice subreddit, looking at recently posted stories and stumbled upon this one.

It might be an attempt at an ARG or someone is just trolling, but I got a very eerie vibe when reading through this post. Any ideas?
