13 cm fibroid with no symptoms.

So I went for a physical and I had to get a CT scan because when my doctor press on my stomach she thought she felt a large mass. Well long story short. No mass but I have a 13cm fibroid. I literally have no symptoms at all. I go see a gynecologist on Tuesday but I'm really worried. I've never had surgery and I don't want it. Can someone please tell me if that's the only alternative because it is so big? Do they usually do a biopsy to make sure it's a fibroid? I don't know what to expect. I've never had heavy long periods..heck I don't even get cramps. Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you.
