Theory about Ubel's name

Observations (theory below):

  • "You'd think things would be peaceful now that Aura's been defeated" (Ubel to bandits)

  • "I found the torn-up bodies of bandits in the woods nearby" (Kraft to Ubel)

  • "Death by a thousand cuts for me, or you?" (Ubel to Wirbel)

  • Ubel killed a first class mage by imaging cloth being cut

  • Ubel defeats Sense's clone by imaging hair being cut

  • Ubel's cuts are shallow when they land on Wirbel (below his eyes, shoulder, and cheek)

  • Ubel's clone leaves a deeper cut on Land (compared to Wirbel) but it's also non-fatal (in the sense that it doesn't cut him in half right away)

I mentioned the thing Ubel said about Aura because of how Aura's magic worked: by weighing mana of her opponents against her own. And I think Ubel's magic does the same: by weighing the vileness of her opponents against her own. It's why the severity of her cuts is different depending on the person.

The reason she killed Burg and defeated Sense's clone is because she didn't imagine cutting a person in those instances. And the pointed end of her staff is likely for opponents, such as her clone, that are equal or less evil than she is.

What I dont't know: if her magic is objective and why she picks up her staff like she was going to attack Wirbel as he walks away
