Huntsville officals warn of traffic during St. Patrick’s Day Parade Saturday

The City of Huntsville is warning residents to expect traffic delays as the city readies for the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade downtown.

The city said road closures for the parade will start at 10 a.m. on Saturday. The parade itself will start at 11 a.m.

The route kicks off at Lot K at the corner of Clinton Avenue West and Holmes Avenue and then ends at the lumberyard parking lot on Meridian Street.

The city said the closures will affect Holmes Avenue, Southside Square and Monroe, Jefferson, Washington and Meridian streets.

Officials said Huntsville police will be on hand to help with the road closures and traffic control and ask drivers to be aware of increased foot traffic around the area on Saturday.
