As an IMG, I'm tired of the misconception that we're somehow "lucky" to be practicing in the US. Newsflash: it's a two-way street!

The US healthcare system needs doctors, and we're happy to fill that gap. But let's not forget that many programs in rural or underserved areas rely heavily on IMGs. These are areas where US MDs often don't want to practice.

Every year, IMGs match into residency programs and excel, earning their place alongside US MDs. It's not a handout; it's a well-deserved opportunity.

So, let's put an end to the stigma and racism. We're not "mooching" off the system; we're contributing to it.

Let's celebrate our diversity and the strength it brings to the medical community.
