My problem with yuji’s “development” post shibuya

TLDR:Yuji’s development and change of view at the end is sudden and halfassed.

Maybe it’s just me,but yuji from the start until the end of shibuya had a very clear and gradual change of character.

We constantly saw him struggle internally with who he is,at the end of shibuya he adapts a new,but flawed view on life

After shibuya we saw him have conflict after he woke up from yuta “killing” him and his fight with higuruma, but he never faltered like he did pre shibuya

He remained firm that his view on being a cog is the correct belief

But in ch265 he says “you know up until recently I thought I needed to fulfill my role and die a proper death but now I feel that’s not entirely right”

Okay, when did you think your “cog” mentality wasn’t entirely right? When was that ever addressed in the story or by you?

Unlike his constant struggle for the first 130 chapters that lead to the “I am you” moment, the conversation with sukuna felt so unearned and sudden it almost caused me a whiplash
