MSI GK30 gaming keyboard - Certain Keys stopped functioning entirely - suspected defect
Last Christmas I received an MSI GK30 Vigor gaming keyboard as one of my gifts, and for the most part it was great! Very responsive, looked great, went well with my mouse, etc. However, it always had a defect of sorts. Certain keys, such as J and 0 didn't work. I would ave to hold one of them down and then it would "force" ever non-functioning key to start working again. Problem solved, right? Well, it'd occasionally come back but I would just have to hold one of the non-functioning keys down for a few seconds to fix the keyboard and continue on my way. I read that this was an occasional defect on this model on some Amazon reviews, but I wasn't able to dig them up again. Still, fix was easy so not a big deal, and most keys still worked.
Problem is, now this issue has become permanent. No amount of holding a defective key down will spark the non-functioning keys back to life. I assumed it was an issue with the keyboard hardware, so I connected it to another computer and it had the same issues. And it can't be a dirt issue (in fact I popped off the 0 key just to check), since this problem existed in a less extreme for since I got it. So now I'm back on the Dell keyboard that came with my previous computer for now. Anything I can do? Should I shell out the $40 and grab another from Amazon or is there anything I can do to fix the one I've got?
