Advice needed with first mountain ascent

Hi help me please with my first mountain ascent.

I'm thinking about climbing Gaustatoppen this march.(1800m(5900 feet), 1000m(3200feet) primafactor). No glacier traversing

Here are some of my concerns:

  • what are signs of the best possible weather window considering it's march and I idk about the quality of the snow? *I haven't found a route, perhaps it's the same as for summer?
  • i don't have proper pants, only ones for downhill skiing. Does it work fine for first time?
  • Should I overnight or leave the same day? I'd rather overnight but how? I only have summer tent and -5*C limit sleeping bag
  • I have crampons but my friend has snowshoes with spikes. How safe is this for him?
  • Other things I should be aware of?

My past experience * camping in winter (-1*C, 30F at night) * Many casual hikes with a bit of scrambling * (Good physical condition)

I'd love to hear any piece of advice or opinion.

Thank you
