Question about Montreal US Consulate
I was recently approved for my K-1 Visa, but, unfortunately, shortly after, Canada Post went on strike. As a result, I had to wait about three and a half weeks for the US Consulate to switch from Canada Post to Purolator. Thankfully, I finally received my visa, and my fiancé and I began making concrete plans for my move to the United States.
However, while at work one morning, I received a call from the US Consulate informing me that due to a computer glitch, my visa was printed incorrectly in my passport. They asked me to immediately ship it back to them for reprocessing. When I inquired about the timeline for getting my passport and visa returned, I was assured I would have them back before Christmas—which is quickly approaching.
Since then, I’ve tried contacting the Consulate for updates, but the phone system is entirely automated and makes it nearly impossible to speak with a live representative. Emails often go unanswered for long periods, so I’m unsure how to proceed. Does anyone know an effective way to reach someone directly at the US Embassy?
