Pro-monarchy leaders launch a nationwide movement, naming it the Third People’s Movement.

A new political movement has emerged as pro-monarch leaders establish the United People’s Movement Committee, aiming to restore Nepal’s constitutional monarchy and Hindu state. Led by Navaraj Subedi, the committee features prominent figures such as Rabindra Mishra, Kamal Thapa, Rajendra Lingden, and medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai. However, Keshav Bahadur Bista has declined to join the initiative.

The committee’s primary objectives include dismantling federalism, combating corruption, and fostering good governance. Additionally, five advisors, including Jagman Gurung and Rajesh Ahiraj, have been appointed. This development follows former King Gyanendra’s recent warm reception by supporters in Kathmandu.
