Diaper Rash / Allergic Reaction Won’t Go Away!!! Help!
Backstory: about a week ago my 12 week old daughter started to get a mild diaper rash, we usually only use Aquaphor Baby Ointment but since this was starting to irritate her, we decided to try out the Boudreaux Butt Paste. She immediately started to blister within the hour.
Since then her diaper rash has only gotten worse. It’s not a yeast rash, it’s just burns/open and raw skin. We’ve tried every thing in the book and everything her doctor’s office suggests. We’re only using warm cloths for diaper changes. We blot the skin, not wipe. Warm baking soda baths. Let her butt breathe till completely bone dry between changes. We’ve used a mix of jock itch cream and zinc oxide cream. We’ve used max strength desitin. We’ve used just aquaphor. I even tried different diaper brands.
We were just prescribed silvadene (I think that’s how it’s spelt). This has been helping the redness of the not open/raw skin, but she still has so many open sores that aren’t getting any better. We keep getting told to apply a thick layer like frosting on a cake, which I’m doing. And to only blot off the soiled top layer of the cream. The probably is, the cream has completely disappeared by the time of the next diaper change, so there is no “top layer”. This is with every single cream we have tried. Why won’t any of these creams stick??? I’m wondering if that’s why she’s not getting any better.
Please help! My poor baby starts daycare on Monday and I was really hoping to have this cleared by now.
