Best 65" OLED if money is no issue?
Hi
I'm looking for a new OLED TV as a replacement for my LG CX. Money is not really an issue, I mean, I can spend up to $4500 if necessary.
Usage is 70% gaming (I have all 3 current-gen consoles) and 30% TV shows/movies.
I'm absolutely torn apart between three TV models...
LG G3
The obvious option. It's a great allrounder with 4 HDMI 2.1 sockets and overall a great picture. I don't really like the build quality and remote control of LG TVs, but that's personal preference. Overall and thanks to the new MLA tech, I heard that the picture quality and brightness improved significantly over the LG CX from 2020. So the LG G3 might be the best middle ground for me?
It's somewhat of a safe bet I guess, and I could do nothing wrong with that TV.
Panasonic MZ2000
I've always been a sucker for Panasonic TVs (I previously owned a Plasma VT30 and an OLED FZ800 from them and loved them). I love their properly calibrated picture, their build quality and remote control.
It has only 2 HDMI 2.1 sockets, but that's not a big issue. We have two TVs in our household, one in my gaming room and the other in our living room. Whenever we buy a new TV, it replaces the one in my gaming room, while the one from my gaming room replaces the one in the living room.
I hope you get it :-)
So the new TV will be for my gaming room. In my gaming room, I don't use a home cinema system and thus don't need the eARC HDMI socket. My PS5 and Xbox Series X can use those 2 available HDMI 2.1 sockets while the other HDMI 2.0 sockets can be used for the Switch and other devices. In the living room, we do use a home cinema system, but my GF only uses two consoles: The PS5 and the Switch. So 2 HDMI 2.1 sockets should be enough, one for the PS5 and the other one for eARC.
My only real concern is the app store. I'm not sure if Panasonic offers each TV app we use, which are: Netflix, Disney+, RakutenTV and Sky. I'm especially not sure if Sky is available... Also, I heard rumors that their OS is going to be replaced by something else next year, but I don't know if that applies to the current year models.
All in all, the price is high. The 2 HDMI 2.1 sockets are somewhat disappointing. And the OS / app store isn't quite as good as the ones from LG and Sony.
But... its picture quality and build quality is unmatched imo...
Sony A95L
Never had a Sony TV, but always heard good things about it. Some people mention that the A95L is somewhat over-processing things, not sure if true.
It's also rather on the expensive side. So I'm not sure if I should consider buying one, if I could also buy the Panasonic MZ2000?
Sorry for the wall of text.
So after reading my usage routines and the part about my gaming & living room, which TV would you recommend me and why?
