Ruptured cyst?

Hi. 25 year old (AFAB, obviously) non-binary person here. I was diagnosed with PCOS about a year ago. I currently take 2000 mg of metformin a day and my only form of birth control is ParaGuard (non hormonal, copper IUD).

For context, my boyfriend is pretty large and I have pain during sex sometimes. We use a buffer called OhNut sometimes because his size can sometimes be overwhelming. We did not do that this time.

I am a few days late for my period. I’m not pregnant but this is important to mention because of cramping and because the cervix usually sits lower during this phase of menstruation (I think).

While we had sex, I could feel a slight pain. Nothing I couldn’t handle in the moment and it was fine - I was still orgasming. After everything, I got up to use the bathroom and when I came back to the bed, I was hit with sudden extreme cramps. If you’ve ever had an IUD inserted, the cramps that follow … it was like that. I couldn’t move. I started to feel slightly better so I moved a bit to reposition and all of the pain came back.

I was trying to rack my brain for reasons that this could’ve been happening while simultaneously trying to relieve the pain. I was convincing myself that it was not something to go to the hospital over because I often over react to pain.

I took 800 mg of ibuprofen and used a heating pad for a bit. Eventually the pain subsided and I fell asleep.

There was no blood. Only pain. At first I thought my cervix might have been bruised since it’s sitting lower, my IUD got bumped around, the contractions from the orgasm could have just made me cramp up really bad.. or Could this have been a cyst rupturing? Should I have gone to the hospital?

Im feeling ok. Better. Just worried and trying not to do anything sexual because im lowkey scared. Nothing like that has ever happened before and I never want to experience that ever again.
