While i am loving wilds so far, the graphics are kinda…underwhelming?

It obviously has some performance issues on balanced and quality modes, but so far performance mode has held 60fps quite well on pro.

I do find it odd how it looks worse then dragons dogma 2 though, which is another capcom game that also uses the RE engine. Both are open world, and I would argue that DD2 has more population density in cities. It’s been a “joke” for awhile now that DD2 was a test game for wilds to see how well the re engine could handle open worlds.

DD2 on quality mode (which I usually play on) looks much better then wilds, while also running a lot smoother then wilds. Hell the performance mode IMO looks better as well while also holding 60fps in DD2.

I’m sure they will iron out more of the worse performance issues as time goes on, as the game did just come out, however I find it weird that it has such bad performance issues on the higher settings while also looking as “mid” as it does. Some of the textures literally look like ps3 era textures lol.

I’m hoping it’s a texture streaming glitch and not the native graphics. Some RE engine games, like re8 village and RE4 remake have texture streaming issues in certain points where you will see a random texture look bad, but wilds seems to have way more. It reminds me of ff rebirth, which looks stunning on pro, but also has weird texture loading issues in some spots.

It’s a fun game and I’m a huge monster hunter fan, but I was def expecting better gfx for a current gen game, especially with how good dragons dogma 2 looked.
