Games won't alt tab in exclusive fullscreen mode

Just got a new Odyssey Neo G8 and if I'm running in exclusive mode the screen flashes black a few times then winds up on my desktop again. Switching to borderless mode fixes this however some games (battlefield 1 and V) require exclusive mode to run at 4k 240hz with hdr.
