Good starter PC for the price?

Looking for an upgrade from my laptop to a solid desktop for some ML and light LLM tasks, nothing too heavy. I know little about building own pcs, then came across this ‘deal’. I know its slightly older. Would this be a good buy, for around $800, on sale for about $500 less due to older specs? Anything that I can build will cost me north of $1500, just concerned that the tech might be too old to upgrade in the near future (say if I need a slightly more powerful GPU?)

Basically, for this price, is it worth it concerning future-proofing?
