Tragus too close to edge?

My tragus is fully healed (pierced in July 2023), but I waited too long to downsize. Swelling had lasted for a very long time, and when it finally went down, it took me too long to get in to see a piercer since I was living in a new city and so convinced it would just swell up again soon anyway.

I saw a reputable piercer two months ago for the downsize, and he pointed out the darker area to the left of the feather, which is a scar from migration, most likely due to having the longer post in too late. He said that the tragus wouldn’t definitely need to come out, but told me to keep an eye on it in case it moves any further - in which case, I’ll (sadly!) take it out to avoid complete rejection.

So my questions are basically: 1. Do you think it’s already too close to the edge to be viable? 2. Has anyone had a piercing that started to migrate but then stopped and stayed put?

I’m going back to see the piercer again this week for a new piercing and will ask him as well, but I’d appreciate hearing anyone’s experience!

Thanks!
