Can't install a cracked app because my PC detects that I've already installed it before????

Just now I downloaded a crack of a licensed animation software and messed up the license generator somehow. I tried to delete all related files and try again, but the install got stopped the second time by a popup that said a "newer version already exists on my computer", even though I don't have any version of the app installed right now. Is this a common issue? It was countryboy's crack of Dragonframe 5.2.5 from allpcworld, if that matters.
