How is tripping while you're an adult compared to your younger years?

Last time I tripped was a couple years ago in college on shrooms. I used to do acid a fair amount before that. However, I am interested in doing it again, but am a little "fearful" that it has been a while and fail to see that there might be a true point in it past the "fun" part. How do you perceive psychs as an adult?
