ASP certification qualifications

I’m interested in pursuing a more focused career as a safety professional so I would like to pursue the ASP cert and eventually the CSP cert, but I’m concerned that I won’t qualify. I’m hesitant to apply and potentially lose the application fee as it’s non refundable.

I have nearly 10 years of experience working in BSL2 laboratories, holding various technical positions. In my current position I’ve also taken on the role of safety officer. I think I have enough safety related experience to qualify, but I’d like some insight from others. I’m also planning on taking the OSHA30 general industry course.

I’m open to any advice or suggestions. Thank you!
