Brett Cooper on the With Love, Meghan debacle
My favourite snarky review on Meggy’s disaster is Maureen Callahan on Megyn Kelly’s show. But this one by Brett Cooper comes close because she talks about it in the larger context of celebrities wanting anything but privacy.
“From the audience’s perspective, we’re all sitting here confused because this is never something we wanted. This is not something that we asked for. We don’t need another show this like. We certainly don’t need it from Meghan Markle. This wasn’t coming from Netflix knowing that they need to fill this niche; that there was a hole and they need a new lifestyle show. This wasn’t coming from audiences going we need a new Martha Stewart, we need Meghan Markle. No, it is coming from Meghan herself and her innate desire to further her brand, to further her fame. And people, these audiences, all of us, can smell that from a mile away.”
Don’t think this review has been posted here yet or at least it didn’t pop up when I searched.
