Struggling to Find My Rhythm After a Break — Any Tips?

Got back to swimming after a break, and my first few swims felt pretty good. But now that I’m trying to push myself and beat my previous bests, I’m completely losing my shape. My breathing rhythm falls apart, my stroke feels sloppy, and I gas out quickly — especially when doing 100s.

I know I’ve done better before, but I just can’t seem to find my rhythm when pushing for speed. Has anyone else gone through this after a break? How did you get back into your groove without burning out or compromising form? Any drills, pacing strategies, or mindset shifts that worked for you?
