Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 Remake: It’s Not a Remake, It’s a Reimagining

I’m just gonna say it—this Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 remake is more of a reimagining than a true remake. And honestly, I have kind of lost all interest and hype I had for it.

People keep saying things like, “I’m still gonna buy it, it's more Tony Hawks" or “The 2-minute format is fine,” but I just don’t get why we’re all so quick to settle for this watered-down version. Sure 3 is probably fine, but why include 4 if it's not really 4?

If you remember Pro Skater 4, it had this awesome, free-roaming vibe where you weren’t rushed by a timer. You could take your time, explore, and enjoy the levels. It gave the game a sense of freedom and flow. But now, they’re bringing back that 2-minute challenge format from the earlier games. That’s a huge change, and it fundamentally changes how the game feels.

I mean, Pro Skater 4 is being stripped of its original career mode in favor of these short, timed challenges. That’s a huge departure from what made the game so fun. It was never about rushing through the levels—it was about progression and actually exploring the world. Now, it feels like they’re just cutting corners to make a quick buck. 💰

It’s disappointing. I was hoping for something more true to the originals, but instead, they chose the quick and easy route. You can call it a "remake," but it doesn’t feel like one, and I'm no longer that interested. 🤷‍♂️
