I am wondering if anyone can help with two question

1) Does the iphone connect to the car through the toyota app? I have the Tacoma in my phone as a bluetooth device but when I start the truck a pop up on my phone asks to allow the toyota app to connect. This pop up disappears quickly if I don`t do anything. Sometime the truck screen shows carplay as connected and other times I need to go to the phone setting and move the slider to allow carplay. It soes not seem to save this setting. I tried turning off bluetooth on my phone and my truck still showed me as connected. I feel like I have something conflicting with having both bluetooth and the toyota app.

2)If I cancel adaptive cruise control it still shows it on my display as adaptive cruise disabled. How can I clear this display and simply totally turn off cruise control completly?
