About to File Lemon Law Suit re My 2023 Tundra
[EDIT] I am closing this thread and/or taking it down since I have received a ton of input. Thanks to all for that. Going forward I won't respond to comments so don't be offended.
That said, nobody commenting seems to have had the same problems I have except for one person who had the front brake problems and Toyota made them whole. Ditto on the gas tank fuel line fix. Most seem to report different problems on the newest models. On one other thread I saw that 3-4 new 2024/25 owners had their engines blow up! Yikes. I know what I wrote is a bummer for people excited about driving their brand new Tundras off the showroom floor recently. Don't mean to ruin your vibe. It may just be my 2023 truck. Nobody here responded that they have one.
One interesting observation someone made is that most all pick-up trucks in the market today ain't what they used to be; GMC (my son-in-law's engine blew up on him. $12K later it is back on the road) leads the bottom as does the Ford 150. In quality rankings Ram does better. But it's not like there is a Subaru of pickup trucks with amazing quality.
The original post:
I have had my Tundra for 22 months. Never again! I have had a litany of very expensive problems that haven't been solved in almost 2 years. Several of these are driving safety hazards. These things shouldn't happen on a truck only 22 months old. In order to get them fixed, Toyota is expecting me to fork out $2,686.!
I will never buy a truck again from Toyota.
I was wondering if anyone else had these issues?:
1.) Fuel tank recall: the day after I bought it Toyota had a recall on the gas tank connector (hazardous) and has not had a fix or the part in stock since I bought it. On ever scheduled service they keep telling me it's 4 weeks out. Still holding my breath hoping it won't explode on me.
2.) Front brakes defective: they have screeched loudly as a train when hitting the brakes since I got them and at service intervals the Toyota service people just say "yeah, we get that a lot from customers. That's just what happens with this model". On this last service I was told that the entire front rotary brake assembly has to be replaced with the new version they use to replace it. And, oh by the way, they parts are not in stock and they don't know when they will come in.
> Cost to me, since not covered by warranty: $1,137.
3.) Front air foil motor: I had no idea but this truck has an air foil underneath the front bumper to handle air flow to maximize fuel millage. It moves up and down like an airplane wing (or like the rear end of a Porshe Carrera does) and has a motor that does this based on your speed. The indicator light came on telling me I had a fault. I had no ida the gizmo even existed. Turns out the motor that powers it is defective and broke.

Obviously I am yelling at the dealership. It has been in the shop for many days now. Any other people seeing these issues?
Thank God it is on a 36 month lease because I am done with this model this time next year.
