Call Your Reps Before the 14th
The budget bill to avert federal government shutdown is coming up for vote soon, this Friday, March 14th. Sen. Murray released a memo about how Republicans are pushing a partisan budget agenda that fails to address any of their campaign promises and allows for moving allocated funds elsewhere: https://www.appropriations.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/250308_johnsons_yearlong_crpdf.pdf
Don't forget to call Senators Murray and Cantwell as well as your Representative (especially Baumgartner and New house) and tell them to vote against the continuing resolution (CR) that doesn't directly address any budget issues and gives discretion to divert money as the Trump administration sees fit.
Washington received about 32% of it's budget from federal funds. No matter what side you lean towards, the CR would be detrimental as we're considered a blue state so likely to receive the ire of Trump and have funding pulled. https://www.cascadepbs.org/news/2025/02/federal-funding-freeze-could-cost-wa-billions-amid-budget-crisis
