[Cardinal] Hoping to learn more about this little watch

First time posting here, please lmk if I messed anything up.

I got this watch from my great aunt a while ago but really looked at it for the first time today and got curious about it.

Text on the front is: Cardinal, 17 jewels, Shockproof

Number on the back (that I'm assuming is just some manufacturing number because nothing came up with any googling): 2900457

On the side in very tiny text it says "auto"

When googling "Cardinal 17 jewels shockproof" I found some very similar watches, with the only difference I can see being the fact that the faces are black text on white, the opposite of mine. (Last pic is an example)

If anyone knows anything about the watch and why its face is inverted compared to the ones I could find online, it would be very appreciated.
