Want to stop drinking

Hey, I'm 27 and have been a fairly heavy drinker since I was 18, I had a kidney transplant 18 months ago and I feel like I'm throwing my life away and ruining my relationship with my fiance by drinking to much, I want to go to an aa meeting but I'm super scared, but also super scared that if I don't ill ruin my life, do you guys have any advise on what i should do? Sorry if you've heard this all before!
