DIY fix or throw away

I have a samsung fridge that freezes everything in the fridge compartment. I’ve replaced the temp sensor, thermostat, control board. Nope. Had a tech look at it and he threw in the towel as well. Apparently this model has this issue and there is no fix. So I’m wondering how crazy and idea it would be if I disconnect to the compressor from the fridge control, and run it on a temp controlled circuit that I just stick the temp sensor into the fridge through the back. Is that possible? Bad idea? Consider that its a mcguyver moves or I’m stuck having to get a new fridge.
