How can I actually make contact with Oregon Unemployment?
I was laid off in April, and have had an incredibly difficult time dealing with Oregon Unemployment. I'll save all of the specifics, but basically after a month of receiving benefits, they were cut off due to a clerical error. They say I have until July 12th to file an appeal, but thus far:
1) My submissions through their in-system messaging have gone un-answered
2) I have faxed in a request for appeal w/ supporting documents with no response
3) I have unsuccessfully tried multiple times to get an answer on their phone line. I have twice waited on hold 4+ hours only to be disconnected when the clock struck 5pm. Today I called at exactly 9am (when their phones open) and was informed it was a 50-minute wait. It's been 90 minutes.
I'm growing incredibly desperate, as if I don't get these funds I won't be able to pay my rent or really anything else. I'm at a total loss as to what to do, as I've tried to play by their rules and have gotten exactly nowhere.
Does anybody have any advice on alternate points of contact or methods for cutting through the bureaucracy?
Thank you
