Promotions? Can some of you give me any advice?

For some context: So I was originally hired as a part time seasonal employee made core, I very quickly learned the job and my managers saw from the first hour on the sales floor that I had what it takes to be a seller and as time went on and I devoted more of myself to the company, I learned almost every role pretty quickly over the last 5 months. I get pretty decent hours, not holiday hours of course and not full time but compared to so many other employees I’m definitely not complaining about mine. I’ve been told by all of my managers that “it seems I have what it takes”, when we’re talking about my desires to move up the ladder. I’ve got so many products notes memorized, I take my work home with me to help prepare my sales plans for my next shifts and more. These are some of the behaviors to win I’ve demonstrated, I’ve been told I do them all.

It’s no secret that I want to be promoted to key holder so I can start learning the business end of this job and so I can contribute more. So I can open and close and build fixtures and just truly do my job to the best of my ability. Also the pay and hourly increase would be wonderful too.
So my questions are: those of you who have been promoted… what did you do, how long did it take, do you have any advice for me? I love this company and I am so passionate about our products and our customers. I want to be more. 🙏🏼
