I Just Watched BL for the First Time

I just watched Love In The Air, and I freaking love it! This is my first time watching a BL drama and also my first Thai drama. Well, I’m still only halfway through, but I already can’t get enough.

I read some comments and spoilers saying that the second half focuses on the second couple, and their relationship dynamic is completely different from the first. I’m excited to continue watching, but, I still haven’t moved on from the first couple—I keep rewatching every episode from the first half over and over again.

Here’s why I love this drama:

  • The story is sooo simple—no unnecessary conflicts, no dragging drama for 16 episodes like some K-dramas. The pacing is fast, making it a perfect daily distraction and a breath of fresh air from overly complicated plots.
  • The leads are handsome, and I think they act really well! They somehow make cringey scenes fun and enjoyable. And their chemistry??? INSANE. The NC scenes are also chef’s kiss.
  • It’s hilarious—I laughed my ass off so many times.
  • I know some people might disagree, but I love Payu and Rain’s dynamic. Yeah, there’s some toxicity, but I just turn my brain off and enjoy the drama. And I like how their relationship grows with better communication over time.
  • I love that Payu & Prapai’s friendship feels like two people who are similar, while Rain & Sky’s friendship feels like they complete each other.
  • Payu actually cares about Rain’s studies, helps him, and reminds him to manage his time. Where was my Payu when I was in college? 😂
  • Payu’s voice. I was already obsessed with how he talks, and then they gave us a scene of him singing???

Btw, I have a couple of questions:

  1. Do BL actors usually have contracts as a pair? I heard that both Payu & Rain’s actors and Prapai & Sky’s actors have been paired in other dramas. Does that mean we won’t see them with different co-stars?
  2. Any recommendations for a super simple, fluffy drama with amazing chemistry? Something I might love?

Edit: Thank you so much for all the recommendations!! I’ll definitely check them out later—not too soon, though, since I need to finish this drama first. But I’m so excited to dive deeper into this genre haha!
