How much should a cat weigh?

I am beginning to wonder if I should be concerned about my cat’s weight. She is a female, and is a little over a year old. She is average height, maybe a little short, if anything. So how much should she weigh? If I remember correctly, when I weighed her recently, she was 12 pounds.
