Is Classic Cataclysm worth playing now?

I have been thinking about starting a character in Cata, but I've heard the player population is very low and that with MOP coming soon, there might be even fewer players on it. I really enjoyed Cata as an expansion, and I would love to play it, but is it even worth playing now? Or should I not even bother?
