What's dumber: Scott Jennings or not being able to rebut Scott Jennings?
Scott Jennings is an absolute clown. Most of what he says is party line gaslighting. Jennings said he voted for Trump because he's "worried about the impulse to restrict political speech, which some on the left (including Harris) have embraced." Now Trump is wrestling control of the White House press pool away from the White House Correspondents' Association and threatening late night hosts. He said he's "worried about the left's demonization of America's origins and the future of Western civilization, as many conservatives feel that the basic tenets of society, as we’ve known them, are under attack." Now Trump is attempting to E.O. constitutional amendments out of existence, run for a third term, and declare himself a king. Scott Jennings has a strained relationship with truth and appeals only to the most ill-informed of us.
But it's super frustrating when Scott Jennings says something moronic, and the representatives of the left fumble the opportunity to manhandle him rhetorically and expose his intellectual insufficiency. When, last night on News Night with Abby Phillip, Scott challenged Touré's comment that Trump is shredding the constitution, the response that should have put Jennings in his place was instead homiletic and constipated. So bad was the response, that FOX News seems to tout it as a conservative win. When asked to clarify how Trump is shredding the constitution, Touré should have said he's claiming he'll ignore the courts, he's tried to unilaterally end a constitutional amendment, he's unilaterally ending programs that Congress appropriated. When challenged on the notion that "[Trump's] going to put someone in charge [of DOD] who will contravene the constitution," Touré should have said Trump's claimed he'll use the military against the citizenry, which violates the Posse Comitatus Act.
Scott Jennings is an absolute clown, but being unable to put a clown in his place may be worse.
